These terms are intentionally short and in plain English. By installing or using SignDrop, you agree to them.

What SignDrop is

SignDrop is a free browser extension that lets you sign PDF documents on your own device. Documents and signatures are processed and stored locally in your browser; nothing is uploaded to our servers. The optional “sign from your phone” feature uses a temporary session that expires after 5 minutes — see the privacy policy for details.

Free to use

SignDrop is free for personal and commercial use. No account is required. We may add optional paid features in the future, but signing documents will stay free.

Your documents are your responsibility

• You keep full ownership of everything you sign with SignDrop.
• Because documents never leave your device, we cannot recover them for you. Deleting your browser data or uninstalling the extension deletes your local library — download anything you need to keep.

Electronic signatures

Electronic signatures created with SignDrop are recognized for many everyday agreements under laws such as the U.S. ESIGN Act and the EU eIDAS regulation. However, requirements vary by country and document type (for example wills, deeds, or notarized documents), and SignDrop does not provide legal advice. It is your responsibility to confirm that an electronic signature is appropriate for your document.

Acceptable use

Don’t use SignDrop to forge signatures, misrepresent someone else’s identity, or sign documents you have no right to sign. That’s fraud, and it’s on you.

No warranty

SignDrop is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We work hard to make it reliable, but we do not guarantee it will be error-free or fit for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the extension — including lost documents, missed deadlines, or disputes over signed agreements.

Intellectual property

The SignDrop name, logo, and software are ours. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the extension as your own.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use SignDrop after a change means you accept the new terms.
